Third Village

80 Stanley St, Darlinghurst NSW 2010

During a lunch break at a property course, me and my partner found a little eat street in Darlinghurst! All the eateries on the street were interesting, but I opt for this one as the price range was below $15 for salads and inside was mildly busy so we went inside.

It looks so small compared to the other establishments next to it, there was an upstairs as well. I remember hearing someone dropping their plates while trying to go upstairs, it was a little steep. Looking at the place, it doesn’t look appealing but once you look through it’s windows it looked cosy and a nice place to have lunch.

This was what initially attracted me to the place, their menu was fresh, easy layout, great price range and catered for breakfast and lunch times.

The place seemed casual as expected from the area, the staff was relaxed and friendly. When you enter, there isn’t much space especially near the cash-register. So I think they should widen their layout, because I can imagine a ton of people complaining at the long line and how tiny the place is. Me and my partner opt for eating upstairs.

Simple metal chairs, wooden tables, chalk ceiling and wall.

I liked how they decorated one side of the wall with posters, it gave the place a sense of uniqueness

Smoked salmon salad $11.95 – I was initially going to order this first, but salmons are my usual ‘go to’ item so I chose another. So my partner chose this, and the salmon tasted fresh and tasted really great with the spinach, roasted pumpkin, feta and French vianaigrette.

Cobb Salad $10.95 – What I chose! I was juggling between the top one because it had pumpkin or this one that had avocado… so I chose the summer item instead. So good! It had grilled chicken, cos lettuce, bacon pieces, warm poached egg (interesting one item into this mix), tomato, avocado and caesar dressing.

Jerry juice $6.50 – Pineapple, orange, lemon

My biggest complaint would be that they completely forgot about my juice, which I wasn’t able to finish since we had to go back and it tasted delicious as well! I could’ve had it while I was eating and so I feel like it was a waste of $6.50 since it seemed like I just tasted it. When they gave their food, yes it was casual but I don’t know it didn’t seem professional?

Great food range, especially their salad, but I don’t think I would go back again.
