Right now, I’m supposed to be reading chapters for one of my subjects but I always get distracted with other things. Food is a major distraction and the other is daydreaming.
As a student, I have had trouble with self-motivation. It is very difficult for me to just sit down and concentrate, my mind tends to float on other aspects on my life like “what shall I get done tomorrow?” “what should I eat later on?” “what else do I need to purchase?” and so on. So basically I find it hard to be mindful on my present surroundings as I like to think of the future. I guess it could be a good or bad thing, but I know I’ll be much organised and less stressed if I just focus on the “now” than the “future”. In turn, I guess this will help me become much motivated with things.
If you have any suggestions on ways to be ‘mindfully present’ please do share, I’d like to try it out.
